As a wedding shoe designer for the past 15 years, I've learned a lot about how to find (and not find) and buy your dream bridal heels. Here are the top tips for wedding shoe shopping to help make the process simple and - more importantly - fun.
- Create Pinterest boards for wedding inspiration
Pinterest boards are a very useful tool for wedding planning - you can have a custom board for your wedding decor, wedding gowns, bridal shoes, invitation designs...
Pinterest is essentially a search engine that allows you to search for images and inspiration for anything you can imagine and save them to your own personal boards. Whether you're planning a floral wedding, a boho wedding, a traditional white wedding, or anything else for that matter, it's a great place to start generating and blending inspiration for the big day.
- High heels or low heels?
If you're not used to wearing high heels, then your wedding day is not the right day to start – trust me, you won't regret it! Comfort is very important on your wedding day, and the last thing you want to worry about is tripping in the aisle, especially if you're already feeling nervous.
Choose a heel height that you're comfortable with - even if your partner is much taller than you, choose your bridal shoes at a heel height that you'll be comfortable walking with. Don't feel pressured to wear high-heeled bridal shoes that aren't right for you - there are plenty of gorgeous low-heeled, comfortable and flat bridal shoes available too.
- Invest in quality
As I mentioned, comfort is very important when it comes to bridal shoes. Whether you're having a wedding in a stately wedding venue or country wedding venue, weddings are long days, often a day of time with family and friends and lots of dancing, so weddings are really important. comfortable bridal shoes are needed.
Personally, always opt for quality shoes with soft linings and soles if possible - they are usually more comfortable and more flexible. however, if you are between two sizes, choose a bridal shoe that feels a little looser and add a gel sole if it is loose. You can remove this gel soleplate as your feet may swell when you stand for a while. Narrow, small bridal shoes are definitely not an option. - if you really want to feel uncomfortable on your wedding day!
